Civil Engineering | Survey Camp At Kem MSN Saujana Asahan, Melaka

brown nipa hut near body of water
Assalamualaikum and welcome to Jellove!

I have been wanting to share my experiences when I went to the survey camp for a very long time ago. It was the last field trip for degree and I was super excited. The pre-requisite subject that the student needs to take before attend this survey camp is Geomatics Engineering. In my case, since I was a diploma student, I didn't have to take this subject anymore for a degree. So, my skills in surveying have rusted and need to be polished. But, since I revised by reading the notes and do some calculations.  The camp was held for 10 days, and there were 4 sessions with a different date.

//Topics and instruments that used throughout survey camp
  1. Levelling/Two-Peg Test (Staff, bubble, measuring tape and  electronic level, tripod)
  2. Traverse (tripod, prism, total station, measuring tape, nails and picket)
  3. Tachymetry (tripod, prism, total station, nails and picket)
  4. Setting Out (tripod, prism, total station, measuring tape, nails and picket)

Thank god that I don't forget to bring along my calculator, notebook, laptop, and a copy of lecture notes because I might have some difficulties if I forget to bring these. A laptop still needed although the report needs to be done by using handwriting because it was needed to process the data by using SDR Mapping and AutoCAD.

//Other important stuff that I brought
  1. Medicine (fever, flu, pain reliever, allergy, etc)
  2. Skincare (sunblock, moisturizer, face wash, etc)
  3. Sanitary pad
  4. Mineral water and food (Instant noodles, bread, and biscuits)
  5. Iron and water boiler
  6. Shampoo, body wash, toothpaste, toothbrush and powder/liquid detergent

When I was at the survey camp, I always feel so hungry since we were working for the whole day. We ate at the dining hall and the food served as a buffet. So, you know what comes next. Always be prepared. Other than that, to save space for my bag, I brought just a few clothes and wash the clothes every day. So, I don't have so many dirty clothes at the end of the survey camp.

I choose session 4 (the last session) and it was the best. All the students were separated by a group of 5 or 6 students. It was fun although it was tiring and exhausting at the moment because I had to carry heavy instruments every day.

This was my every day's view. I was so lucky because my group was placed near the lake with the mountain view. The sunrise and sunset were so breathtaking. But, near my working area, there were no trees to keep myself away from the sunlight. It was hella hot at noon.

I was posing with the instruments which are Total Station and Prism.

The girls' squad.

My group members doing Two-Peg Test

Little that I know that this fire camp would be an obstacle to do Setting Out 😂

My friends and I

Hiking to Gunung Ledang's waterfall to do some charity work

After I went back to UTHM, I was so determined to do something related to Surveying for my Final Year Project. Dream comes true! hahaha! So this was my experience in Survey Camp. How about you? Do you have any camp for your course while studying at university?

Viral | Whales, Tiger And Sun Bear Seen Roaming Around In Terengganu

plants on rocky mountain under blue sky
Assalamualaikum and welcome to Jellove!

Isn't it exciting to see that suddenly these animals appear out of nowhere? Yes. You also can see it as a joke.
"Aku dah kata ada yang main jumanji" - anon
Try to open your eyes, and see in different ways. Did you ever wonder why these animals came out from their natural habitat? did you? If you haven't, think now. Read this post. You don't need to study science or environment to see this issue. We, as greedy humans are destroying their habitat. Their habitat is in danger. We are destroying our ecosystem by building more and more shopping malls, commercial areas, and houses. Didn't we have more than enough shopping malls? Especially in the city.

The first issue was the orcas spotted near Terengganu and also there are so many whales found dead on Iceland beach. The whales were spotted by the Petronas staff 16 July 2019. I think that maybe they are migrated to find a place which suitable temperature. This protected species sighted near Terengganu waters for the first time.

Source: says.com

The second issue appears to be two tigers (Harimau Belang) shows up at Terengganu and have been strolling around on the road. However, the tiger appears to be tame and attacking human. The tiger might be someone's pet. According to theborneopost.com, this is the third incidents that happen in Terengganu. The first one was in February 2016, a tiger (Harimau Belang) was found dead after involving in an accident with an MPV at Kemaman, Terengganu.  The second one was in November 2018 where a black panther was found dead after being hit by a car near Dungun, Terengganu.

The latest arising issue should be a sun bear has been caught after a week with the tiger and whales issues. Says.com stated that a sun bear appearing to be around the village feasting some coconuts, jackfruits and honey. However, according to Says.com, there are still 2 sun bears on the loose, and the captured sun bear will be released to their natural habitat soon after a health check by the veterinary.

This is not a joke. We are being blinded with money and greeds until we do not realise that we actually have been destroying our ecosystem, the animal's natural habitat and also our earth. Look at those pitiful eyes, they are screaming for help. They are hungry and lost. Although some of them are predators, but the real predator is us. The evil one is us. Stop all these fights between humans and join hands together to conserve our nature, our home, our air to breath, and our water to drink.  It is so so sad to see that we, as a human stupidly blinded with money and greeds until we lost our humanity.

Health | Overconsumption of Sugar Among Malaysian Can Kill

cookies with sauce
Assalamualaikum and welcome to Jellove!

In recent years, I realize that the popularity of sweet food and drinks has skyrocketed. You can find sweet food and drinks almost anywhere. There are deserts with molten chocolates and strawberry, cakes, drinks with whipped cream, Brown Sugar Bubble Milktea, ice cream, shaved ice, and many more. It is good to eat something sweet once in a while but if you eat sweet too often, it is becoming unhealthy. I think that Malaysian need to be aware and need to control their sugar intake. It is because sooner or later it will become a disease and it kills you.

What I realize from living in Malaysia, mostly whenever I order a drink without saying 'kurang gula' they will make the beverage so sweet. Sometimes, even when I said 'kurang gula', I still got a very sweet drink. I seriously can not relate, how in the world people can have a sweet beverage without drinking plain water afterward?

When I went to a restaurant, I had to bring my own mineral water because I can not drink their Teh O Ais or Milo Ais. They even put the sugar on the table so that the customer will put sugar inside their own meals. I was culture-shocked! Obviously not because they are from Kelantan or Terengganu but because of their sugar intake. Malaysian need to be aware that overly sugar intakes can contribute to extra calories. It is very unhealthy and it leads to so many diseases such as diabetes, obesity, cardiovascular disease and many more.

//The amount of sugar that your body needs

The amount of sugar that your body needs to keep the blood sugar value normal is less than one teaspoon. You can read about it in detail by clicking (link).

//The negative effect of sugar on your body

There are so many negative effects on your body if you are consuming a lot of sugar. The effects are it may increase your stress level. Other than that, sugar will takes important nutrients in our body. That's why a large amount of sugar intake will be harmful. Although sugar may cause so many life-threatening diseases, eating too much sugar also may cause your tooth decay. That is why it is very important to brush your teeth twice a day. Then, sugar also causes your body to age faster. It will easily produce wrinkles and your skin sagging. Then, sugar can cause life-threatening diseases such as heart disease, diabetes, and gum disease.

//Smart ways to eat less sugar

Some effective tips that you can apply right away are to trying to eat sweet moderately if you can't stop immediately. If you are consuming too much sugar and suddenly stop eating sweets, it may cause you to have dizziness. You should eat more fruits and vegetables, drink plain water and avoid sugar-loaded desserts. Don't eat junk food but choose to eat the full coarse meal. When you are going to the supermarket to buy drinks or food, it is good to be aware of the sugar level in the food by reading the information section on the can. Never trust 'healthy' drinks or 'sugar-free' drinks. Eat more protein and fat.

Here are the signs of eating too much sugar:

So, if you’ve been struggling with a muffin top that won’t budge or persistent belly fat, maybe it’s time to listen in. Maybe your body is trying to tell you to quit sugar. #sugar #fat #weightloss

Stop drinking too much Boba Milktea, all the drinks with the whipped creams and carbonated drink. All the trendy things might not be good for you and your health comes first. So, love yourself first before loving someone. Take good care of your own body by eating something healthy. How about you guys? do you think that you are eating too much sugar?

Civil Engineering | Praktikal Di Syarikat Consultant

people sitting down near table with assorted laptop computers
Assalamualaikum and hi readers!

Lately, I have taken my time and holiday to be an intern at the Civil and Structural Engineering firm somewhere in Malaysia. Well, from what I can say, there are so many bad and good things happen around me recently. Working as an intern here is completely different like when I was an intern at Sime Darby. Probably because this is a C&S firm and Sime Darby is a developer company. You can read about my experience when I was an intern at Sime Darby. (Link)

p/s: acah-acah session 👷

At here, I can implement most of the subjects that I have learned in my studies. Especially for all the design subjects (foundation engineering, hydrology, hydraulics, highway & traffic engineering, reinforced concrete 1&2, and many more). I learned how to correct the drawing by using AutoCAD and some other similar software, which is ZWCAD. To be honest, I was so afraid to be an intern here since this professional field of work requires a lot of knowledge and imaginations. As an engineer, I need to design the structure that can withstand for a very long time. One single mistake can cause fatality. It is a very long process to achieve the best design for a project. But the thing is, I learned a lot from the engineers here. They always guide me with their best effort. I feel so thankful to them and they got my respect.

There are so much more of the things that I can learn here because I just started internship last 30th June. I can assure you that there will be much more to share with you guys later!

-Nana 🙋
How about you guys? have you work as an intern before? Tell me in the comment section down below!

Lifestyle | My Own Way To Manage Stress

man covering face with both hands while sitting on bench
Greetings to all!

Wow, I seriously got no time to write something for my blog. It feels like a waste to keep this blog untouched for a very long time. As a final year student, I am dealing with a ton of assignments, projects, examinations, and my final year project. It is really exhausting and I had to deal those things with sleepless days. There was a moment where I did not sleep a wink and went to finish all my works and it was hella exhausting and I could not even speak correctly. I know it is very unhealthy and very dangerous for myself. This thought often comes out from my mind, "I am so bad with time management and planning". I couldn't agree more. It is true. I am bad with time management and planning.

My plans were always changing last minute and from that, I end up doing my works half-heartedly which I hate the most. Although my works were satisfying, people were unimpressed with my proposal and it was very exhausting. So, I keep doing the same thing repeatedly from day by day. It is very tiring, annoying and exhausting. everything was not going so well and I keep failing. It makes me wonder, "Wow, I am really stupid"

One day, I felt too suffocated with that unhealthy lifestyle. I need to get out from here. I need to breath fresh air from somewhere nice. I need to do something that will keep my stress away. But to cope with my stress, I always drawing something. But, I don't have enough time to draw. Something came out of my mind. I decided to went to watch the sunrise near the beach. I always get to watch the beautiful sunset but rarely sunrise.

I went to watch the sunrise at Pantai Minyak Beku, Batu Pahat with my housemate, and it turns out well. Watching sunrise along with the sound of the wave hitting the beach calming my mind and keep myself back to the neutral. I can't stop smiling that morning. It seems like the wind takes away my burden and stress, the sun rising seems like lifting my energy and will, and the wave is hitting my inner self to keep me going. Subhanallah, seeing Allah's amazing creation is so calming.

The beautiful sunrise although it does not come out at the sea. But I still satisfied. Next time I really should check the compass direction at the chosen area to watch either sunrise or sunset. 😂

A picture of me. I touched up the picture a bit by using Adobe Lightroom. Isn't it amazing?

A little break is also one of the ways to manage your stress properly. Go for a walk, do something you like, exercise and go hiking. It is important to keep your mind healthy and strong. All you need to do is run away for a little while, and come back to finish what you have started. We all need a me-time sometimes.

Have a blast!

Lifestyle | Racism and Discrimination Around Us That We Need To Prevent

brown game pieces on white surface
Greetings to all!

Disclaimer: For sure, it is not applicable for all of us, but for most of us and our society

So, the topic that I will talk about today is a bit sensitive. But, I still want to highlight the issue in this public platform so that many of you can read and started to open your eyes to the whole new world. From what I can see, our country itself is a good way to see the modern racism, discrimination, and segregation For example:
  1. Government worker only for Bumiputera
  2. The Private sector only for Chinese
  3. Hiring male workers only for the construction industry
  4. Hiring non-hijab women only

All the racial and gender discrimination is just a bad parasite nowadays and it seems so hard to get rid of it. This is a nasty and the truth that we must face and take immediate attention and action. But rather than blaming others and waiting for people to take action, why don't we started it first? Start from a small scale by not doing anything racist and discriminate the others. The most obvious thing that we face today is mostly when the fresh graduates trying to find a job. I can already feel the heat when I am trying to find a place to do my internship especially in my field of study. I am a civil engineering student where mostly they want a male student or a male worker to be on site. It is hard, and it is the truth. It feels like I am not qualified and I don't have the skills. That is why I must take an initiative to be better and I will prove to those people that I can do it and make them want to hire the minorities. 💪 Rather than waiting for them to change, we need to work hard to prove that we are extraordinary, promising and presentable. In the end, all of them care about is the money and benefit for their company.

The door for opportunities doesn't automatically open, you must walk and open it by yourself. Try to grab the opportunity. If there are no opportunities available, create one for yourself. 💥The world has so many selfish people and you must be strong enough to push them to make a way for yourself and to change. Moreover, stop making racial comment and jokes. It may be funny for you but not for the others. I think that kind of jokes are making you look stupid and a loser.  💢

In the end, stereotypes are just stereotypes. 💁 The race is like our body, it cannot be ignored and we can embrace it. But, race alone doesn't reveal everything about a person. It is their attitude, heart and mind is all matter. Love people just the way they are and not because of their race. Educate yourself with morals and if you are lost, the only solution is to back from the start and look the basic and your main purpose of life. 💋 May all of us can stop being so racist and discriminate against the others. Have a good day everyone!

Lifestyle | Being An Adult Is Not Easy As We Think

Assalamualaikum and greetings to all!

Instead of writing for my Final Year Project 1, I am writing for my blog.💁 But still, I should give a good topic for my post.

Fast forward, I only have one more semester left for my studies. It has been 5 years since the first time I entered university. It is so fascinating yet scaring me because I will be facing an adult life. For sure, It won't be easy and it will be challenging. Most people still unaware that the way they approach and conducting their life more like a child rather in a mature way. What does it mean by being an adult? In my humble point of view, being an adult is when you started to feel responsible and conducting life using your brain rather than letting your emotion controlling your acts. But, maturity doesn't come from your age, it comes from your mind and the way of thinking. If you are older,  doesn't mean that you are mature enough rather than someone who is younger than you. Try to get rid of that sceptical way of thinking.

An adult also can be rational with their decision. It is important to think before making a decision. An adult is able to distinguish between feeling and intellectual thinking. The level of responsibility when you are an adult also improving. It is because you will start to manage your own money, to properly make a decision for someone, to be the head of a family, and to be a leader. It feels like a journey to the unknown through the stormy sea. No one really knows where and how to. But, that is the spice of life and may all of us can face adulthood with a positive mind and life.

As an adult, it is important to have a 'me time' once in a while. Well, sometimes being an adult can be tiring and exhausting. Getting a massage, a nap time, or movie time won't make it worst. In contrast, it will make your day brighter.

That's my two cents. Thank you for reading!

Game | The Sims 4 Addiction

Image result for the sims 4
Assalamualaikum and Welcome to Jellove!

The semester finally over and it is time for semester break! Yeayyyy! Usually during semester break, I will do everything I love to deal with my boredom to try making my holiday worthwhile. Other than drawing, reading books and watching dramas, I also love to play computer games! Especially The Sims! So far I have played Counter Strikes, The Sims, Naruto Shippuden and even Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallow Part 1 (Potterhead detected). I can guarantee that you also will love playing Harry Potter game. It is so freaking fun and I addicted to it. So thrilling and the story-line is quite different from the movie. That what makes it exciting.

Image result for harry potter and the deathly hallows part 1 game

When semester started, usually I stop playing computer games. But, for this semester, my urge to play computer games uncontrollable. It is one way to cope with stress that keep hunting me this semester, and one way to release my anger. Hahahaha Well, playing the sims doesn't makes me get angry because the game is not that intense.

Why I love The sims so much? It is because I can dress up my sims, I can design house, I can decorate my house, I can even kill my sims (evil laugh). Oh ya! I love the new mod where I can change my sims to vampire. It is too fun and it is hard to playing games for only 10 minutes.

So, I would like to introduce my sims characters: Edward Hanks and Eva Hanks. Hehehe, actually they had son but I remove it because it was so hard to take care of a toddler. So much care.. hahaha

Edward in formal attire. Hehehe.. I am not good in dressing male character.

Edward in Everyday attire and close up view.

I love dressing female character. There are so many clothes and I feel like shopping for my self and I can just spend hours to dress up one female character. This is Eva in everyday attire.

Eva in formal attire. Gosh! She looks so gorgeous in this dress, and I am freaking love this!

Eva in Party attire.

Eva's full makeup look for party. hehehe!

FYI, I play the game is just for fun. Don't take it seriously. It is just for fun and I had fun, that is all matter. Maybe later, I will show you guys the house that I designed in the sims. Oh ya! I think that the sims works pretty well just like Sketchup and I think it is better. Sketchup is a software to drawing in 3D. Usually the architecture student will use this sofware, and also Civil Engineering student. I use the software to design house for Reinforced concrete and also Engineering Drawing and AutoCAD. The next time, just use the sims to build a house. Hahaha

P/S credit to all the CC mods maker. Big thanks from me!
See ya!
